Paul Sibbering shows ‘Rustings’ with NO:ID

The last quarries closed in Rutland in the seventies.  A dead steel industry left in its wake an iron-informed vocabulary,  water-filled gullets, railway cuttings devoid of rails and factory chimneys found unexpectedly in the middle of woodland.  Sibbering works with this detritus. The filings are  valueless, the process one of deterioration, yet “ironically” this creates a conceptually invigorating art which is clearly of value.
